I pulled up to the first window to pay and there was a lovely, smiling woman. There was something so warm about her, so I told her she was lovely and had such a warm, welcoming voice. She teared up and said "Thank you. It's my Mama's voice. She passed recently, and every time I talk I can hear her voice. I'm a lucky woman. I have this wonderful job, a great family, and my Mama's voice in my life every day." I could feel the lump in my throat. To see this woman so happy and proud of her job, made me thankful for being there in that moment.
It's easy to feel like your life sucks sometimes. Life does suck sometimes. I spend a lot of time teaching myself and my kids gratitude. Are we broke sometimes? Yepper. Do we have enough food? Yes. Are we healthy? Yes. Do we have a family to love and to love us? Yes. Amazing. Everyone has tough times, so find the good and thank God for it.
I never thought I was going to learn something about life at a drive through. :)
