It feels eerily quiet, like I'm in a horror movie waiting for something to happen.
Today is my first kidless (and hubby-less, since he's out of town) day in three weeks.
Yes, yes, I love those little buggers, but man alive this quiet is everything.
I woke up before my alarm this morning, the kids leapt out of bed without nagging, and we got to school fifteen minutes early. It was a blissful morning.
I took the kids to class where they happily fell in with old and new friends. Everyone is so happy!
It feels good to be in your place. We have been so offset by Christmas "break", so missing our routines.
This year, we stayed home over break. So it was lots of wonderful family time, but also lots of cooped up kids, fighting when they got bored, begging for new and exciting meals every day. (They asked me for meat muffins last night. Or meat cookies. What?) We also watched four seasons of Phineas & Ferb.
That. Show. Is. Awesome.
So this morning, while they are excitedly catching up with friends, I sit here in the quiet.
An extra cup of coffee, drunk while still hot! I didn't even have to microwave it six times! Wahoo!
So, to all my fellow SuperMoms, I hope you enjoy your After-Christmas Exhale. It comes but once a year.
Savor the day!
Have another cup of coffee!
Call your Mom and catch up!
Take a blessed nap!
