Of course, she looks adorable.
I remember when I got glasses. I was so self-conscious. I was nervous to start school. I was seven, just like Piper, but not nearly as secure in myself.
Trying to boost her confidence at the glasses store, I exclaimed "Piper! You look gorgeous!"
She said, "Oh Mom. Don't you know that doesn't matter? It's what's on the inside that counts!"
I'm so proud of her. Proud of the little girl she is, the big girl she is becoming, and the woman she will one day be. Sure, she's still seven and a half. She is still snotty at times, like any other kid. But she has these moments of clarity that I did not possess at her age. She seems to get it. My sweet girl.
And she is rockin' those specs!
