SuperHub left Sunday for a month. Monday morning our packers came to get our stuff for Egypt and I kept Piper home from school. They were here for five hours and when they left, I was exhausted and glad to have the chaos removed.
Ten minutes after they left, the pipes in our bathroom wall burst.
Five hours later, I had a 3 foot by 4 foot hole in my kids' bathroom wall, which is an exterior wall on our house. From the outside there is an 18 inch square hole. In the house. You could crawl into my house via this hole. Good thing they used duct tape to "seal" it up. I call this massive hole "the walk-in closet". Oh yeah, and in the process of beating the heck out of the walls, they also broke the toilet.
Now my kids have to use my bathroom. While they are in there they also like to use anything they can find. It's an exciting new addition to my day.
Tuesday, maintenance came back and spent the entire day at my house. Oddly, the wall looks exactly the same. I can't begin to imagine what they did for a full day. Maybe they were playing cards in there.
Wednesday was today. Today our second, and only operational toilet broke. I wasn't worried, since maintenance was supposed to come back to fix everything today.
Supposed to come back. Are you laughing? I'm laughing.
(I'm really not laughing.)
By 4:30pm, still no guys to fix the wall or either toilet. Yay!
Thankfully, the kids had been out of control all day and Piper had had the meltdown of her life. You just can't make up this stuff.
At one point, I decided to hit my secret stash of chocolate and I stood in my kitchen eating a Snickers and trying not to break. To my credit, I didn't cry even though I was feeling quite defeated.
So I went to kiss my kids' heads. They were eating dinner at the table so sweetly and quietly. Wait..... Nope. Liam dumped his pasta into his cup of water. Yippee! So, he'll be hungry later. For sure. I cleaned him off (since he used his fingers as a pasta with pesto scoop), changed him into jammies and thought, surely it's gotta be close to bedtime.
It was not.
It was 5:15pm. Two hours to bedtime.
So... two hours later, kids are in bed. SuperMom is feeling like a deflated party balloon, so I sat on the couch hoping that Project Runway was on.
Poop! It's not Thursday. Bugger!
Then I see it. The Best of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Two hours of sure-thing laughter and good entertainment. Honestly, I rarely stay up and watch late night television. But to see the best of Jimmy Fallon all in one place? I'll take it! Thank you, DVR!
Here are the top 5 best things about Jimmy Fallon. (and the 5 reasons you should be YouTubing this right now...)
5. He is hilarious.
4. He can dance.
3. He can sing and/or rap. (Seriously, Google "History of Rap". You'll love every second.)
2. He seems to just be a cool guy, all around.
1. He breaks in every single sketch, and then the professional actor/actress he's in the sketch with also breaks and then you start laughing on your couch. Pretty awesome to see him tumble Helen Mirren, Ewan McGregor, and John Cleese.
Watch this special. You won't regret it. I'm dying here!
So, here is a classic example of the witty humor. Hope it gives you a giggle. And if you have had a week like me, and it's barely Wednesday, I hope it gives you lots of giggles.
**Shout out to my homie Olivia!! Li's rock! ;)
