I’m not actually supermom, I’m just a mom and I happen to think it’s a pretty important job. Beyond caregiver, boo-boo smoocher, referee, coach, teacher, student, maid, chauffeur, lunatic taking multiple children to the grocery store, I am a wife, a woman, a Christian, an Army spouse, and a mom. Aside from the piles of laundry and dishes, I LOVE my life. I love every crazy day with my kiddos. I love to watch them grow and learn every day. Best of all, I love to see glimmers of the people they will one day become. I love them immensely and totally.
While it may take a village to raise a child, in this day and age, most moms are often left Googling our problems, doing Facebook surveys of friends we haven’t seen in 25 years and other asinine things to desperately find the answers to our parenting questions. (At least in my life where I often live thousands of miles and several time zones from family. Why do all my catastrophes happen at 2am EST?) This is my journey to be a good mother, a loving wife, and a person I can be proud to be at the end of the day. Some days I totally fail, but others I succeed and those are the days that make my life worth living.
"Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff." Catherine M. Wallace
